We need to start taking Stevi Ritchie more seriously. At lot of people thought he'd be out but he's survived 3 double eliminations and a single. He's seen off fellow novelty singers Chloe and Blonde Electra, technically better singers like Lola, Jack and Stephanie, younger "heartthrobs" Overload Generation and Jake.
So two questions
In series 2 it's sad that I remember Simon had a spat with his own act the Mcdonald sisters and famously saved Sharon Osborne's Chico in bottom 2. SImon seems to genuinely like SR as a person despite not being a great singer and even did the whole VT Harvester man date thing. Would Simon save SR against his another over eg Ben? Would Simon really save SR against bottom 2 dwellers Stereo Kicks or OTY, or Paul (who Simon seems to want out) or Andrea or cash cow Lauren??? Second question, could SR be a contender ala Chrisopher Malonie? SR is actually not the worst singer imo. The OTY girls have barely sung in tune in solos (especially brunette Parissa) and apart from talk wonky faced James Stereo Kicks are really poor, especially Barclay Yoddler and Reece. Stevi is entertaining enough to get votes and cult following but decent enough to get votes for singing. Again he's not good but his Phantom performance was sung better than one or two others. He's yet to appear in bottom 2 so people are voting for him he has got a strong following, and quite a few women seem to fancy him Last edited by alex_front2; 04-11-2014 at 11:10 AM. |

I think it's just more the case that there're so many acts that people are totally ambivalent about that're now gone. I doubt he's anywhere near the top 3/4 in the voting, probably 6th or 7th, and that's been safe enough the entire time so far. He'll go in the next two weeks.
I wouldn't be surprised if Simon kept Andrea/Lauren ahead of him either, it's the sort of thing he'd do for controversy.

He won't sell records. Seems more suited for the west end.

He won't win. He won't have a bigger following than the perceived favourites.
Also, as much as I can't stand the bag of crap that is Only The Young, I feel the girls are actually the only good ones. Last edited by Ryan57; 04-11-2014 at 03:18 PM. |

I think he'll be just scraping through each week like Wagner was, almost always JUST shy of the bottom 2/3 but not falling into it until Week 7.

The advantage he has people's lower expectations. We anticipate he will be poor so are used to it and don't feel disappointed. His Phantom was sung better than Jack and some of SK. Plus shockingly there are women, attractive women, who fancy him wtf.
