Boris Johnson said that Putin will use the World Cup in the same say that Hitler used the Olympics, ie: for propaganda purposes. And he's not the only one thinking it. I've had this self-same conversation with someone just recently. I'm sure most people will be able to understand the comparison Boris was making.

Yeah this has been widely misreported as Boris saying it, he didn't, he said the Labour guy who said was probably right.

Even so it is probably right, Putin is going to use it as a propaganda tool.
