He bought Kamala expensive gifts like a BMW and appointed her to two influential positions. He named Kamala to the California Medical Assistance Commission, a job that paid $72,000 a year and also appointed her to the state's Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, a lucrative position that put another $97,088 a year in her pockets. Brown later faced an FBI corruption investigation for handing out lucrative city contracts and appointments to friends and political allies. Even after he dumped Kamala in 1995, he still continued to use his influence to promote her career, "I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco." - Brown Harris was elected California's attorney general in 2010 with massive help from Willie and when she ran for United States Senate in 2016, Brown called on her likely opponent, Antonio Villaraigosa, to stay out of the race https://x.com/BehizyTweets/status/1815109953603911697 |

In as much as this may be true, the point I made was that we dont know her. I certainly didn't know this about her. This is why she doesn't stand much chance against Trump who we know all too well. Poor choice and a testament to the state of democratic politics in America - They cant even beat a convicted felon, twice impeached president who to this day still hasnt conceded defeat in 2020. ITs quite poor TBH

I think you're missing the tides of the sociology on this one - the things you're describing are part of what a large proportion of his voter base actively likes about him, rather than a "can't even". They're part of his appeal to people who have spent their lives feeling underfoot and pathetic. "Heh heh heh that'll show 'em!" by-proxy lapped up by petty, frustrated middle-aged school children.

![]() You'd be better off asking Alf how - if it's true that the Dems are controlling everything and can manipulate the results to their whims, as they claim they did in 2020 - Trump managed to win in 2016... and why they believe he'll win in 2024. "They have full control and can manipulate the elections... but... uhmmm... only this one time in 2020!" Last edited by Quantum Boy; 22-07-2024 at 03:37 PM. |

Still entertaining to watch. The good bit starts at about 4 minutes in. Gabbards claims are not all true but did any of you know about this stuff with Harris. Lets see how she reacts when confronted about it,

this is why the likes of obama and pelosi have not endorsed harris yet. They are, sensibly, waiting to see how it all pans out and they will endorse the chosen nominee.
I still maintain putting 2 swing state governors on the ticket is the best strategy to win. People then just need to pile in behind them and beat trump Last edited by bots; 22-07-2024 at 03:46 PM. |

Gabbard was not a popular pick within her own party because she was rather too inconvenient and didn't know how to stay in her place. Last edited by Maru; 22-07-2024 at 03:59 PM. |

Probably from Clinton, Obama supporters and Middle of the road republicans. I'm betting not too many progressives will have donated.

Does she actually? I'm not sure I've even heard her voice tbh. But I thought she was fairly serious?

Believe me, I would love to see a woman President. But I just don't think she has enough support.
